Michael Gorman's Oregon Fishing Guides focus on
fly fishing for two species:
trout and steelhead.
The McKenzie River is our top trout
fishing choice, while the Rogue River is tops for summer/fall steelhead.
For Oregon winter steelhead, we specialize in guiding the
Siletz River.   Our McKenzie River fly fishing guides, and
Siletz and Rogue River fly fishing guides, are at your
service.  Let the fun begin!

Oregon Guided
Trout Fishing Trips

The native rainbow trout of McKenzie River, upper Willamette, and
Santiam River are abundant and willing.  All have less numerous, but healthy,
    populations of cuttrhoat trout, too.

    Our McKenzie River fishing
guides begin the year in late February, near Eugene.  The McKenzie
River is famous for its native "redsides"
rainbows.  If the water is warm enough, late February will see the
beginning of the mid day March Brown mayfly hatch.  Rising fish will
take an adult or cripple pattern with consistency.  When the McKenzie
    River trout are
not rising, a well-presented deep nymph will produce some of the year's
largest trout from February thru mid April.
As the water continues to warm on the McKenzie
    River into
    May and June,
surface fishing with dry flies and soft hackle patterns becomes more
    consistent.

Steelhead  Fishing
Trips

Because of their size, fighting acrobatics, and temperamental ways, steelhead
are considered by those who have caught them to be the most coveted gamefish in
freshwater.   Using a fly rod to catch these fish, especially during
the winter season, adds to the challenge and satisfaction of this angling
experience.  Our Oregon steelhead guides specialize in using ALL appropriate fly fishing
methods: wet fly, dry fly, and nymphing.

Since Rogue River guided steelhead fly fishing trips are ---
by far --- our most popular outings of the entire fishing year, we recommend you attempt to book
a year in advance, though we may have a few unexpected openings.   Many of our returning clients will book
three or four trips during our August through November season!
For those that want a chance to catch a winter
steelhead on the fly, Oregon's Siletz River is our top choice.  Many fly
anglers have hooked summer steelhead, but few have succeded  in the winter.
If you are up for the challenge, contact us.

December through March will find us on the
Siletz River.  The Siletz is a
boating trip.

Late June through early August we pursue summer steelhead
and trout in a
drift boat on the South Santiam River.

Mid August
through November we focus on southern Oregon's Rogue River
steelhead.  Our Rogue clients often book a year in advance to assure a
reservation on this world-famous fishery.  Rogue River guided
fishing for steelhead is as good as it gets, and our Rogue River fishing guides
are patient, effective teachers.
